who received targeted care. The symptom checklist 90(SCL-90) scale was used to investigate the psychological status of the patients at the early stage of admission and after one course of nursing intervention. The data were statistically analyzed. Results At the early stage of admission
the scores of paranoid
obsessive-compulsive
and hostile symptoms in male patients were significantly higher than those in female patients
while the scores of phobic symptoms were significantly lower than those in female patients(all P<0.05). After the intervention
the scores of paranoid

somatization
and total SCL-90 scores in female patients were significantly lower than those before the intervention(all P<0.05). Conclusion The psychological status of patients with hyperthyroidism of different genders remains diversified. It is necessary to take targeted care for these patients
