Objective To investigate the effect of rehabilitation training on hemoglobin levels in patients with stroke sequelae to provide a reference for clinical treatment. Methods A total of 94 patients with stroke sequelae with low hemoglobin levels from June 2020 to June 2021 in the southern branch of the Second Hospital of Shandong University were selected as the study subjects. The patients were assigned to the treatment group(n=46) and the control group(n=48) by the random number table. The patients in the control group received conventional therapy and the patients in the treatment group rehabilitation training in addition to the treatment in the control group. Red blood cell count
hemoglobin level
red blood cell volume
and C-reactive protein level were compared between the 2 groups before treatment and at 3 months of treatment. The incidence of adverse events during treatment was compared between the 2 groups. Results Before treatment
there was no significant difference in red blood cell count
red blood cell volume
hemoglobin
and C-reactive protein levels between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment
the red blood cell count in the treatment group was larger than before treatment as well as that in the control group
and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). After treatment
the hemoglobin level in the treatment group was higher than before treatment as well as that in the control group
and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of diarrhea and fracture between the two groups(P>0.05). There were 10 cases of recurrent stroke in the control group and 1 case of recurrent stroke in the treatment group. The incidence of recurrent stroke in the treatment group was lower than that in the control group
and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion Rehabilitation training can raise the level of hemoglobin
and reduce the level of C-reactive protein and the recurrence rate of stroke
with a high safety profile. These benefits justify a wider application of this training in clinical practice.
