Objective To explore the clinical effects of high-flux hemodialysis(HFHD) in the treatment of patients with diabetic nephropathy(DN). Methods A total of 90 patients with DN admitted to a hospital in Henan Province from October 2018 to January 2021 were selected as subjects
who were assigned to a study group and a control group via the random number table method
with 45 cases in each group. Patients in the control group received low-flux hemodialysis(LFHD) treatment
and patients in the study group HFHD treatment. The levels of serum total protein(TP)
prealbumin(PAB)
and albumin(ALB) were compared before and after treatment; the metabolic waste removal rates were compared; the levels of superoxide dismutase(SOD) and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px) were compared before and after treatment
and the incidence of adverse events was compared between the two groups of patients. Results The levels of TP
SOD
PAB
GSH-Px
and ALB levels of patients in the 2 groups were compared before treatment
and the differences were not statistically significant(P>0.05). The levels of TP
PAB
ALB
blood creatinine
urea nitrogen and uric acid clearance in the study group after treatment were higher than those in the control group
while the levels of SOD and GSH-Px were lower than those in the control group
and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse events during treatment between the two groups(P>0.05). Conclusion The efficacy of HFHD in the treatment of DN is evident. As a simple and safe procedure
it can effectively improve the nutritional status of patients
remove the metabolic wastes in the patients’ blood
and reduce the stress reaction of patients during dialysis. These benefits justify a wider application of this procedure in clinical practice.
