Connective tissue disease(CTD) is an autoimmune disease involving multiple organs and systems
and when the lesion involves the respiratory system
it mostly manifests as interstitial lung changes
and connective tissue disease-associated interstitial lung disease(CTD-ILD) is one of the important causes of poor patient prognosis. Clinical guidelines or consensus on the treatment of CTD-ILD are still lacking. Steroids and immunosuppressants are the first-line drugs for the treatment of CTD-ILD
and timely initiation of antifibrotic therapy is the key link to controlling disease progression. Pirfenidone(PFD) and nintedanib are 2 new antifibrotic drugs
both approved for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis(IPF). In recent years
the efficacy of these drugs in the clinical treatment of CTD-ILD has been reported in the literature. Therefore
this paper reviews the current status of clinical studies on PFD and nidanib in the treatment of CTD-ILD.
