Exercise is one of the effective ways to enhance physical fitness
but unscientific
high-intensity exercise can cause great damage to the body and can even lead to exercise-induced rhabdomyolysis(EIR)
which occurs most often in endurance sports such as middle and long-distance running and power sports such as weightlifting and rowing
or among people who exercise infrequently or rarely but suddenly exercise heavily and vigorously. Because of the atypical clinical manifestations of EIR
misdiagnosis or omission may easily occur if other medical and surgical diseases are combined at the time of admission. In this paper
we review and analyze the clinical data and treatment plans of three patients with EIR who were discharged from the hospital after treatment and summarize them with reference to relevant literature. It is recommended that relevant personnel should achieve early detection
diagnosis and treatment of EIR to prevent serious complications. They should actively introduce EIR to college students
promote well-scheduled exercise
and urge students to seek medical attention promptly once symptoms such as muscle pain
weakness and dark urine after exercise are observed.
