with paroxysmal kinesigenic involuntary limb movements for 3 yearsclinically characterized by kinesigenic unilateral limb numbness with involuntary jerking lasting about several seconds
clear consciousness during the attack
and normal interictal period.Neurological examination was normal. The genetic test revealed PRRT2 variants.Parental genetic testing was normal. The diagnosis of paroxysmal kinesigenic dystonia was confirmed in May 2018 at West China Medical Center of Sichuan University. In this paper
while summarizing the etiology and pathogenesis of the caseclinical diagnosis
and reviewing the relevant literature
we found that paroxysmal kinesigenic dystonia is a class of rare neurological disorders characterized by recurrent
sudden movement-induced non-random movement disorders with high genetic heterogeneity
and the episodes will directly affect the normal and effective maneuvering of the aircraft
and medical examiners and flight doctors should strengthen the prevention and control of this disease to ensure flight safety.
