Objective To explore the clinical significance of early enteral combined with parenteral nutrition support treatment after oral cancer surgery. Methods Patients with oral cancer who underwent surgical treatment in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
the Affiliated Stomatology Hospital of Southwest Medical University
from September 2014 to October 2016 were selected as subjects. After the nutritional risks were eliminated
the patients were randomly divided into parenteral nutrition treatment group(control group)and enteral combined with parenteral nutrition treatment group(experimental group). The control group was given intravenous nutritional therapy after operation. The experimental group was given a gastric tube during the operation
and was given enteral nutrition therapy(Nutrison Fibre)& intravenous administration after the operation. The two groups were compared in terms of changes in albumin and body weight
retention time of drainage tube
and mean length of hospital stay. Results On the tenth day after operation
the experimental group had significantly better albumin and body mass index and significantly shorter retention time of drainage tube and mean length of hospital stay than the control group(P < 0.05). Conclusion Early postoperative enteral and parenteral combination nutrition therapy for patients with oral cancer can effectively reduce nutrient loss and shorten the length of hospitalization
