Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease is currently the most common cause of liver dysfunction

which includes simple steatosis

nonalcoholic steatohepatitis（NASH）

and NASH-induced cirrhosis. NASH manifests histologically as lobular inflammation

ballooning degeneration of the liver

and fibrosis progression

which means a poor prognosis of the disease and an increased risk of developing end-stage liver disease. Noninvasive diagnostic technology is a key measure for assessing the changes in the condition of patients with NASH and monitoring the response to drug treatment. This article is a brief review of current noninvasive diagnostic technologies for NASH.
