among which thyroid cancer accounts for a high proportion. As diagnostic techniques are progressing

papillary thyroid microcarcinoma（PTMC） has been detected more and more frequently

but its diagnosis and treatment becomes debated. In traditional views

the vast majority of doctors tended to classify PTMC as a malignant tumor; however

modern clinical research makes some scholars turn to the opposite opinion-a benign tumor

generating a certain divergence in the diagnosis and treatment of PTMC. Some clinical experts and scholars have put forward new insights into individualized

standardized

and targeted treatment. This paper briefly discusses the diagnosis and treatment of PTMC at home and abroad.
