Objective To explore the effect of the target-optimized health education care model in the care of children with bronchial asthma. Methods This study selected 100 children with bronchial asthma who were admitted to a hospital in Zhengzhou from April 2017 to April 2018. Using a random number table
the children were divided into an observation group and a control group
with 50 cases in each group. The children in the control group were cared for using the conventional nursing intervention model
and the children in the observation group were cared for using target-optimized health education in addition. Bronchial asthma control rate was compared between the 2 groups at 2 months of intervention; forced expiratory volume in first second(FEV1) and peak expiratory flow(PEF) were compared between the 2 groups before and at 2 months after discharge from hospital; the number of acute bronchial asthma attacks and re-hospitalization during the 2 months of intervention were compared between the 2 groups. Results The total control rate of bronchial asthma in the observation group was 84.00%
which was higher than that of the control group(62.00%)
and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). The number of acute bronchial asthma attacks and re-hospitalizations in the observation group were 1.31±1.21 and 0.24±0.16
respectively
which were lower than those in the control group
which were 3.35±1.31 and 1.02±0.53
and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). At 2 months of intervention
the FEV1 and PEF levels of children in the observation group were(122.54±0.32) L and(174.21±25.64) L/min
respectively
which were greater than the(96.21±0.31) L and(143.32±26.01)L/min in the control group
and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion Target-optimized health education can improve the asthma control rate of children with bronchial asthma
improve children’s respiratory function
and reduce the number of acute bronchial asthma attacks and re-hospitalization
and thus has certain clinical application value.
