chronic kidney disease(CKD) has become a serious threat to human health worldwide.CKD may affect multiple organs or systems
exerting varying degrees of impacts on patients’ life and work
and thus leading to a series of adverse psychological reactions.Due to the variations in disease severity
psychological endurance
family background and social support among CKD patients
the type
severity and duration of their psychological problems are also different. In clinical settings
the most common psychological problems in patients with CKD include anxiety
depression
and cognitive impairment
which may have profound influences on patients’ quality of life. Therefore
it is important to investigate the mental health status of CKD patients and develop relevant mental healthcare strategies to improve their mental health. This article reviews the common psychological problems in patients with CKD and relevant treatment strategies
so as to provide theoretical basis for clinical optimization of management modes for CKD patients.
