Since the introduction of immunization program in 1978

China has witnessed remarkable achievements in prophylactic immunization.Nowadays

it is essential to protect not only the life health but also the personal dignity of vaccinees.For this reason

this article puts forward a new concept of dignified immunization

which means that the informed consent and decision-making rights of vaccinees should be respected and protected.The vaccination industry plays a very important role in protecting the personal dignity of our Chinese people.Although the concept of adequate informed consent has been accepted by most vaccinees

and pertinent laws and regulations have been issued to ensure the implementation of this process

there are still several challenges

such as absence of a private environment for vaccinees in the process of informed consent

as well as too limited time for vaccinees to fully understand the immunization-related information.All of these have resulted in suboptimal implementation of informed consent.Therefore

we have to make concerted efforts to fully realize the goal of dignified immunization.
