Objective To explore the characteristics of common narcissism and its relationship with mental health.Methods 564 high school students from two middle schools were surveyed with Common narcissistic Inventory（CNI）

Narcissistic Personality Inventory-16（NPI-16）and General Health Questionnaire-12（GHQ-12）in Sichuan province

and the data were statistically analyzed.Results The scores of CNI

the prediction effect of common narcissism was significant

and its overall explanation rate increased to 5%.Conclusion Significant gender and grade differences existed in the high school students′common narcissism

and common narcissism can positively predict mental health.
