Objective To investigate the relationship between left atrial size and positive coronary angiography in patients with type 2diabetes mellitus(T2DM)
and thereby assess the predictive value of left atrial size for the risk of developing coronary heart disease(CHD)in patients with T2 DM.Methods Based on the data of left atrial diameter(LAD)
patients were classified as having either an enlarged or normal left atrium.By considering the CHD-related risk factors documented in the patients′medical records and laboratory findings as well as coronary angiographic findings
the influencing factors for positive coronary angiography were analyzed. Also
the relationship between left atrial size and positive coronary angiography was explored using binary Logistic regression analysis. Results Left atrial size is an influencing factor for positive coronary angiography in patients with T2 DM.Conclusion Left atrial enlargement can be regarded as a predictive factor for the risk of CHD in patients with T2 DM.
