Objective To investigate the ways to get sexual knowledge

and physiological health knowledge and the attitude towards sexual education of high school freshmen as to provide a reference for sexual education of high school freshmen.Methods With a random sampling method

231 freshmen in a high school of Yong′an City were taken anonymous questionnaires and the results were analyzed.Results In terms of the ways to get sexual knowledge

students got sexual knowledge from their same-sex friends

teachers and networks

respectively accounting for 52.9%

46.1% and 42.9% but 6.3% of students sought sexual stimulation from pornographic reading materials.In terms of physiological health knowledge

15.7% of the students thought spermatorrhea or menstruation was harmful and 37.2% of the male students could properly wash their genitals.In terms of the transmission of AIDS

students had full understanding of three ways of transmission:sexual intercourse（93.7%）

blood transfusion（84.8%）and mother-to-child transmission（78.5%）

but 36.6% had misunderstanding of its transmission and thought mosquito bites could spread AIDS.In terms of the attitude towards sexual education

78.5% of the students thought sexual education was necessary and 31.4%thought the contents of school sexual education were too few.Conclusion High school freshmen have diversified approaches to sexual education

but the school and their family do not play their guiding role

students are still weak in physiological health knowledge and sexual knowledge and they have an urgent need for scientific sexual education.Society

schools and families should work together to carry out comprehensive

scientific and systematic sexual education.
