Objective To investigate the present status of emotional intelligence and job satisfaction of railway conductors and explore the relationship between emotional intelligence and job satisfaction.Method 110railway conductors were surveyed with Emotional Intelligence Scale and Job Satisfaction Scale.Results The average emotional intelligence of railway conductors was 3.726

the average job satisfaction was 2.422

both were lower than the theoretical value.The total score of emotional intelligence and scores in all dimensions were significantly different in age（P<0.05）.There was a significantly negative correlation between the overall level of emotional intelligence and job satisfaction.Conclusion The overall levels of emotional intelligence and job satisfaction of railway conductors are low and their emotional intelligence has a significantly negative predictive effect on their job satisfaction.Therefore

the improvement of their job satisfaction must take all-round aspects into consideration and it has a far-reaching significance on the stability of conductor team and the prevention of job burnout.
