Objective To investigate the expression of Toll-like receptors 2（TLR2）in peripheral blood mononuclear cells（PBMCs）of hepatitis B virus（HBV）carriers（ASC）.Method 40cases of ASC and 20cases of healthy volunteers were divided into inactive HBV replication group

active HBV replication group and healthy group to analyze the levels of TLR2in PBMCs and tumor necrosis factor（TNF-α）in the serums.Results The percentage of positiveTLR2cells and the ratio of TLR2average grey degree in the active HBV replication group were higher than the healthy group and the differences were statistically significant（P<0.05）;the differences between the inactive HBV replication group and the healthy group was insignificant.The levels of TNF-αin both the active and inactive HBV replication groups were higher than the healthy group and the differences were statistically significant（P<0.05）;the level of TNF-αin the active HBV replication group was higher than that of the inactive HBV replication group and the difference was statistically significant（P< 0.05）.Conclusion The expression of TLR2in PBMCs of hepatitis B virus carriers is higher than the healthy people and there is a certain correlation between the expression of TLR2and the proliferation of HBV.
