Objective To investigate and analyze the epidemic situation of diarrhea caused by norovirus infection in a university so as to provide a scientific basis for collective-owned units like schools to take corresponding prevention and control measures.Method An epidemiological investigation was conducted for students suffering from diarrhea;suspected food from canteen was collected and sampled.Vomit and excrement of students with diarrhea had norovirus detection by means of the method of enzyme linked immunosorbent assay（ELISA）.Results Incidence time of the first case was on December 22

2011which was lasting for three days;238cases suffering from diarrhea in total all across the campus were mainly freshmen accounting for 47.06%（a total of 112cases）

91.06% of suffered students once ate in canteen of the northern campus. Through pathogenic detection of vomit for 20cases

there were 18cases that had positive norovirus with a detection rate of 90.00%.Conclusion Outbreak of this infectious diarrhea is caused by norovirus

which are mainly transmitted through food
