Objective To probe into the features and influencing factors of depression in university students through investigation on undergraduate students of Wuhan University.Method An investigation on 201undergraduate students of wuhan university was conducted using the self-designed questionnaire and self-rating depression scale（SDS）

and the result was statistically analyzed.Results Among 201students investigated

there were 71ones who had depression

accounted for 35.32%of the total students investigated;57ones had mild

moderate depression

accounted for 80.28%of students with depression;14ones had major depression

accounted for 19.72%.Differences in depression of university students with different sex

subject and grade were statistically significant（p<0.05）.Conclusion Depression in university students shall not be neglected

which is influenced by such factors as sex

grade and subject.
