Objective To probe into the basic amount of insulin infusion in the application of insulin pump to aged patients with type 2diabetes mellitus（T2DM）.Method Aged T2DM patients having indications were selected and treated with insulin pump.The basic amount of insulin infusion was adjusted and blood glucose level before and after treatment was recorded.Results The blood glucose showed a steady decrease in a short time after being treated with insulin pump and there was no hypoglycemia.The basic amount of insulin infusion occupied 33.3%～50.0%of total insulin throughout the day

accounting for 39.2%on average

which was lower than lower limit of the chinese guideline for Insulin pump treatment（2010）.Conclusion In the application of insulin pump to aged patients with type 2diabetes mellitus

the basic amount of insulin infusion must be reduced.
