Objective To have knowledge about the health status of kindergarten children and its change trends so as to provide a basis for taking relative effective intervention measures to promote healthy growth for children.Method Health examination data of children aged between 2 and 7 from 17 kindergartens in a certain urban area of Nanning city from 2009 to 2011 was statistically analyzed.Results Among children examined in 2011

the ratio of height surpassing the average was 44.50%

the ratio of weight surpassing the average was 33.91%;the detection rate of obesity was 2.83%

the detection rate of malnutrition was 4.53% and that of dental caries was 31.42%.Anemia

trachoma and pigeon breast decreased year by year while antiadoncus and abnormal vision increased year by year;differences in detection rate of height surpassing average

obesity

malnutrition and dental caries of different years had no statistical significance.Conclusion The health status of children from kindergarten in a certain urban area of Nanning city is not optimistic and health care for children should be insisted.Antiadoncus

abnormal vision and dental caries is the key point of health intervention for kindergarten children in Nanning city.
