Objective To have knowledge about the usage of antibacterial drugs in out-patients of the hospital and analyze the existing problems so as to promote safe and rational drug use.Method 5 488 outpatient prescriptions of our hospital from January to December 2010 were chosen randomly and the clinical application of antibacterial drugs was analyzed.Results There were 1 706 prescriptions of antibacterial drug accounting for 31.09% of the chosen prescriptions;among the prescriptions using antibacterial drug

ones using only one kind of antibacterial drug accounted for 82.59%

ones using two kinds of antibacterial drugs accounted for 15.30%

ones using three kinds of antibacterial drugs accounted for 2.11%.And prescriptions of irrational antibacterial drug accounted for 32.30%.Conclusion The outpatient has a basically rational use of antibacterial drugs

but there exist irrational phenomena in aspects such as application method

dosage

compatibility of medicines and the like.
