Objective To have knowledge about the incidence and influence factor of fatty liver in retired teachers and staff members of our university so as to provide a basis for preventing and curing the fatty liver.Method The physical examination data and B-ultrasound examination results of 702 retired teachers and staff members were analyzed.Results The detection rate of fatty liver in retired teachers and staff members of our university was 20.94%

and the detection rate of fatty liver in the females was higher than that in the males（p<0.05）;the level of ALT

GLU

and TG in the group with fatty liver was higher than that in the group without fatty liver while the HDL level was lower than that of the group without fatty liver

and the differences were statistically significant（p<0.01）.Conclusion Prevalence of fatty liver among retired teachers and staff members of our university is not optimistic

so comprehensive measures should be taken to prevent the incidence of fatty liver.
