Objective To have a knowledge about antibacterial drugs used for patients with upper respiratory tract infection with fever in our hospital.Method Medical records and follow-up data of 1469 patients with upper respiratory tract infection with fever in our hospital were collected from January 2011 to August 2011 and their treatments were analyzed. Results Among the 1 469 patients
there were 826 ones using antibacterial drugs
which accounted for 56.23% of the total patients
wherein the usage rate of cephalosporin came first
reaching as high as 54.12%
followed by quinolones and macrolides antibacterial drugs. The examination rate of routine blood test and chest radiograph was 2.31% and 0.54% respectively.Average cost of treatment was only 26.15 Yuan
but the effective rate of treatment was 99.00%.Conclusion The utilization rate of antibacterial drugs is relatively high in our hospital
which could easily lead to drug-resistant strains. However
these antibacterial drugs achieve good treatment effects with cheap prices and play a positive role in treating upper respiratory tract infection.
