Objective To have a knowledge about the effect of traditional chinese medicine apozem in preventing acute respiratory infectious diseases.Method Outpatient amounts in the hospital of a university in the forth quarters from 2008 to 2010 were chosen and influenza A was prevented with the traditional chinese medicine apozem in medical-care stations A and C in the forth quarter of 2009.The prevention effect of traditional chinese medicine apozem after unexpected public health emergencies of acute respiratory infectious diseases was evaluated through the vertical and horizontal comparison method.Results From october 2009 to december 2009

the number of patients with respiratory infectious disease reduced after they took the traditional chinese medicine apozem.Conclusion The traditional chinese medicine apozem is effective in preventing unexpected public health emergencies of acute respiratory infectious diseases and thus it can be promoted.
