Objective To analyse of HBV-carrying and ALT abnormality among new students in our university so as to provide scientific guidance for Hepatitis B prevetion.Method The new students from 2005 to 2007 grade were blood tested for HBsAg and HBsAgb by ELISA.The new students from 2005 to 2007 grade were blood tested for ALT by IFCC.Results The HBsAg positive rates of undergraduate students from 2005 to 2007 were 13.1%

12.5% and 9.3% respectively;For postgraduate students

the rates were 11.7%

11.6% and 7.0% respectively;The rate of 2007 grade students was lower than that of students from grade 2005 or 2006;Male undergraduate students from grade 2006 or 2007 and male postgraduate students from grade 2006 all had higher positive rate than the female students respectively with significant difference（P<0.05）.Conclusion The HBsAg positive rate tended to decrease year by year in recent 3 years.However

the situation of HBV prevention is not optimistic.It is suggested that the university strengthen this work.
