Objective      To investigate and compare the predictive accuracy of 4 versions of Partin tables (1997

2007 and 2012 versions) in postoperative pathological staging of prostate cancer in Chinese men.       Methods      We retrospectively analyzed the data [prostate-specific antigen (PSA)

Gleason score and clinical stage] from 163 patients with prostate cancer

who underwent radical prostatectomy during February 2005 to December 2013. ROC curve derived AUC was used to test predictive accuracy of the 4 Partin tables in predicting organ-confinement (OC)

extra-prostatic extension (EPE)

seminal vesicle invasion (SVI) and lymph node invasion (LNI).       Results      For 1997

respectively.       Conclusion      Our results show that 1997

2001 and 2012 Partin tables are more accurate than 2007 Partin table in predicting organ-confined prostate cancer. 1997 and 2012 Partin tables are superior to the other 2 versions of Partin tables in predicting SVI and LNI. The 2012 Partin table is much better than the other 3 tables in predicting LNI. All the 4 versions of Partin tables are poor in predicting EPE. The findings suggest that the application of 1997 Partin table in combination with 2012 Partin table can improve predictive accuracy of pathological staging of prostate cancer in Chinese men.
