Objective    To study the risk factors for congenital heart disease in Chinese population.     Methods    A meta-analysis was performed with Stata11.0 for the papers on risk factors for congenital heart disease in Chinese population published in 2000-2010 that were search from PubMed

MEDLINE

Wanfang database

VIP database

and CNKI.     Results    Twenty case-control papers including 3 076 cases of congenital heart disease and 60 617 controls were searched. Except for passive smoking

the OR of other risk factors was lager than 1. The OR of mental stimulation

common cold in early pregnancy

abnormal child bearing history

exposure to chemical toxic substances

pregnancy complications

alcohol abuse of father

and noise pollution was 3.10

with the exclusion of 95%CI=1.     Conclusion    Mental stimulation，common cold in early pregnancy，exposure to chemical toxic substances， pregnancy complications

and noise pollution are the risk factors for congenital heart disease in Chinese population. However

passive smoking has not been considered a risk factor for congenital heart disease and should be further studied.
