Application of Wechat follow-up management in home nursing of patients with malignant tumor treated by radionuclide therapy
Objective To explore the application effect of wechat follow-up management based on health education in home nursing of patients with malignant tumor treated by radionuclide therapy. Methods From March 1
2020 to April 30
2021
100 tumor patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria in the first radionuclide treatment at Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Medical University were selected and randomly divided into experimental group and control group
each with 50 patients. The control group received routine follow-up care while the experimental group received WeChat follow-up management in addition to the routine follow-up care. Patients in both groups were followed up after 1
3
and 6 months of care after discharge using the cancer patient quality of life measurement scale (EORTCQLQ-C30). Quality of life
compliance at home (including medication adherence
regular check-ups
and standardized radiation protection)
and satisfaction with the medical team providing radionuclide therapy were compared between the two groups. Results After adding WeChat follow-up management
the comprehensive quality score of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P < 0.05)
with significant interaction between the two groups over time (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference between the two groups in January (P > 0.05)
while the experimental group had significantly higher scores than the control group in March and June (P < 0.05). Four-dimensional analysis showed that physical function
emotional function
and social function scores had statistically significant inter-group and time interactions (P < 0.05)
while cognitive function did not (P > 0.05). The proportion of patients in the experimental group receiving regular check-ups and correct radiation protection was significantly higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05)
while there was no significant difference in medication adherence between the two groups (P > 0.05). The satisfaction of experimental group with medical team providing radionuclide therapy was significantly higher than that of the control group (P < 0.001). Conclusion WeChat follow-up management has been introduced in home care
aiming to improve the home compliance of cancer patients after undergoing radionuclide therapy and enhance trust and satisfaction with the healthcare team providing radionuclide treatment. Such management methods could further enhance the quality of home-based living for patients
promote prognosis
especially for those cancer patients receiving radionuclide therapy.
