Application of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine fast-track surgery in elderly patients with mixed hemorrhoids during the perioperative period
Objective To evaluate the application value of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine fast-track sur-gery in elderly patients with mixed hemorrhoids during the perioperative period. Methods A total of 80 elderly patients with mixed hem-orrhoids were randomly divided into observation group and control group(n = 40). The observation group was treated with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine fast-track surgery, while the control group was given conventional treatment. The two groups were compared in terms of Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)and Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)scores on admission and before operation, and postoperative complications(the urinary retention score on the 1st day after operation, and the scores of incision pain, edema, and bleeding on the 1st,3rd,and 7th days after operation),length of hospital stay, and incision healing time. Results Compared with the control group, the observation group had significantly lower preoperative SAS score and SDS score, urinary retention score on the 1st day after operation, and scores of incision pain, edema, and bleeding on the 1st,3rd,and 7th days after operation,as well as sig-nificantly shorter length of hospital stay and incision healing time(all P < 0.05). Conclusion The application of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine fast-track surgery in elderly patients with mixed hemorrhoids during the perioperative period can effec-tively relieve anxiety and depression, accelerate postoperative recovery, and reduce the incidence of complications, which holds promise for clinical application.
