Clinical research and advances in application of molecular targeted therapies and immune checkpoint inhibitors in gastric cancer
In recent years, there have been more and more studies on the molecular mechanism of gastric can⁃cer. Many international centers have carried out clinical research on new targeted drugs aiming at different signal transduction pathways, and some drugs have been widely used in clinical practice, changing the traditional therapeu⁃tic paradigm for gastric cancer. Following the positive results of trastuzumab combined chemotherapy in the treat⁃ment of HER2-positive advanced gastric cancer,antibody-drug conjugates and novel monoclonal antibodies target⁃ing HER2 have been developed continuously. In addition, several agents targeting angiogenesis,HGF/c-Met,PI3K, PARP,FGFR2b,CLDN18.2,and immune checkpoint inhibitors are currently subjected to clinical trials. This article reviews the current studies and clinical application of molecular targeted therapies and immune checkpoint inhibi⁃tors in gastric cancer.
