Compliance and efficacy of acceptance and commitment therapy combined with antiviral inhibitory therapy in the treatment of frequent genital herpes
Objective To explore the compliance and efficacy of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)combined with antiviral inhibitory therapy in patients with frequent genital herpes. Methods One hundred patients with frequent genital herpes meeting inclusion criteria were divided into observation group and control group according to random numbers generated in Excel, with 50 cases in each group. The control group was treated with valacyclovir hydrochloride tablet 300 mg twice daily for 3 months and then 300 mg once daily for another 3 months;health education was also given. The observation group received ACT in addition to the treatment for the control group. After 6 months of treatment, clinical efficacy and compliance were compared between the two groups. Re-sults The cure rate and overall response rate were 68% and 86% ,respectively, for the observation group, and 42% and 56%,respectively,for the control group. The clinical efficacy of the observation group was significantly better than that of the control group(Z=10.928,P<0.05). The observation group had significantly better compli⁃ance than the control group(Z=12.165,P<0.05). Conclusion ACT combined with antiviral therapy improves patients’compliance as well as clinical efficacy and quality of life, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
