Clinical Study of Tamsulosin Combined with Escitalopram in the Treatment of Chronic Abacterial Prostatitis with Anxiety and Depression
OBJECTIVE: To probe into the clinical effects of tamsulosin combined with escitalopram in the treatment of chronic abacterial prostatitis with anxiety and depression. METHODS: Totally 200 patients with chronic abacterial prostatitis with anxiety and depression admitted into this hospital from 2015 to 2019 were extracted to be divided into the control group and the combined group according to different treatment regimens
with 100 cases in each group. The control group was treated with tamsulosin combined with placebo
while the combined group received tamsulosin combined with escitalopram. National Institutes of Health-Chronic Prostatitis Symptom Index(NIH-CPSI)
white blood cell count
lecithin body count
maximum urine flow rate
mean urine flow rate
Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD) score
score of questionnaire for comprehensive assessment of quality of life and adverse drug reactions of two groups were compared. RESULTS: The total effective rate was 80%(80/100) in the control group and 100% in the combined group
and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.000 1). After treatment
compared with the control group
the white blood cell count and NIH-CPSI score decreased more significantly in the combined group
with statistically significant differences(P<0.01); the lecithin body count of the combined group increased
the maximum urine flow rate and mean urine flow rate also increased. After treatment
the HAMD score of the combined group was significantly lower than that of the control group
and the scores of questionnaire for comprehensive assessment of quality of life(including physical pain
physical function
emotional function
mental state and social function) were significantly higher than that of the control group
with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). The incidences of headache
sleepiness and dizziness in the combined group were significantly lower than those in the control group
with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Tamsulosin combined with escitalopram can significantly improve the clinical efficacy of chronic abacterial prostatitis with anxiety and depression
which is safe and reliable.
