OBJECTIVE: To probe into the clinical efficacy of sodium hyaluronate combined with muscle function training in the treatment of temporomandibular joint anterior disc displacement with reduction complicated with earache.METHODS: Totally 159 patients with temporomandibular joint anterior disc displacement with reduction complicated with earache admitted into department of stomatology

Capital Medical University from Jan.2018 to Jun.2020 were extracted.Seventy-eight patients in the study group were treated with sodium hyaluronate combined with muscle function training

and 81 patients in the control group received muscle function training only.The degree of earache [visual analogue scale（ VAS） ]

maximum opening（ MMO）

and temporomandibular joint function（ Fricton index） were observed before treatment and after treatment of 4 and 12 weeks.RESULTS: After treatment of 4 and 12 weeks

the earache VAS score of the study group was significantly lower than that of the control group

the MMO was significantly higher than that of the control group

and the DI

PI and CMI in the fricton index were significantly lower than those of the control group

the differences were statistically significant（ P < 0.05）.CONCLUSIONS: Sodium hyaluronate combined with muscle function training in the treatment of temporomandibular joint anterior disc displacement with reduction complicated with earache has effective short-term and mid-term efficacy

and can significantly improve the clinical symptoms of patients.
