Clinical Efficacy of Piedomodec Combined with Chlorretatin in the Treatment of Allergic Rhinitis and its Effects on Serum Eosinophils and Granulocyte-Macrophage Colony Stimulating Factor
OBJECTIVE:To probe into the clinical efficacy of piedomodec combined with chlorretatin in the treatment of allergic rhinitis and its effects on serum eosinophils(EOS) and granulocyte-macrophage colony stimulating factor(GM-CSF).METHODS:Totally 120 patients with allergic rhinitis admitted into People ’s Hospital of Beijing Daxing District from Jan.2018 to Jun.2019 were extracted to be divided into the control group and the observation group via the random number table
with 60 cases in each group.Patients in the control group were given loratadine orally
while the observation group received Pidomod tablets orally on the basis of the control group. The clinical effects
remission of symptoms and signs
quality of life score and adverse drug reactions
changes of serum levels of interleukin-4(IL-4)
interleukin-5(IL-5)
interleukin-12(IL-12)
tumor necrosis factor(TNF-α)
EOS and GM-CSF before treatment and after treatment of 4 weeks of two groups were compared.RESULTS:After treatment
the total effective rate of the observation group was 88.33%(53/60)
significantly higher than that of the control group73.33%(44/60)
the difference was statistically significant(χ
2
=4.36
P=0.04).After treatment
nasal symptoms and eye symptoms in both groups were significantly relieved compared with those before treatment
and scores of nasal itching
nasal congestion
sneezing
runny nose
tearing and eye itching in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group;after treatment
the scores of all dimensions of quality of life scale of rhinoconjunctivitis in two groups were significantly improved compared with those before treatment
and the scores of daily life
sleep
practical problems
non-nasal(eye) symptoms
nasal symptoms
eye symptoms and emotions in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group
with statistically significant differences(P
<
0.05).After treatment of 4 weeks
the serum levels of IL-4
IL-5
EOS and GM-CSF in both groups were significantly lower than those before treatment
and the observation group was significantly lower than the control group;the levels of IL-12 and TNF-α in both groups were significantly higher than those before treatment
and the observation group was significantly higher than the control group(P
<
0.05).The incidence of adverse drug reactions in the observation group and the control group was respectively 23.33%(14/60) and 26.67%(16/60)
with no statistically significant difference(χ
2
=1.44
P=0.23).CONCLUSIONS:Piedomodec combined with chlorretatin orally can effectively improve the clinical efficacy and quality of life in patients with allergic rhinitis
