EMBase and the Cochrane Library were retrieved until Mar. 2020. Meta-analysis was performed on randomized controlled trials of efficacy of trimebutine maleate combined with bifidobacterium triple viable bacteria( study group) versus trimebobutin maleate alone( control group) in the treatment of IBS. From the perspective of medical care system
the cost-effectiveness analysis method was used to evaluate the economics of the two treatment regimens. The sensitivity analysis was carried out by cost decrease of 10%and treatment efficiency fluctuation of 10%. RESULTS: Totally 11 literature were collected
including 1 312 patients.Meta-analysis showed that the total clinical effective rate of the study group was significantly better than that of the control group
and the difference was statistically significant( RR = 1. 24
95% CI = 1. 18-1. 30
P < 0. 000 01). No severe adverse drug reactions were found in both groups. The economic evaluation results indicated that the costeffectiveness ratio of the study group regimen was 256. 52 and its incremental cost-effectiveness ratio was 793. 33 compared with the control group
that is
the control group scheme was better when the patient’s willingness to pay was ≤793. 33 yuan
when the patient’s willingness to pay was > 793. 33 yuan
the study group scheme was better. The results of sensitivity analysis showed that the results of economic evaluation were relatively robust.CONCLUSIONS: The clinical efficacy of trimebutine maleate combined with bifidobacterium triple viable bacteria in the treatment of IBS is better than that of trimebutine maleate alone
clinicians can choose whether to use combined regimen according to patients’ willingness to pay.
