Comparison on Efficacy Between Flunarizine Hydrochloride Capsule and Anisodine Hydrobromide Tablets in the Treatment of Vestibular Migraine and Their Effects on Anxiety and Depression
OBJECTIVE: To compare the efficacy between Flunarizine hydrochloride capsule and Anisodine hydrobromide tablets in the treatment of vestibular migraine and their effects on anxiety and depression. METHODS: A total of 121 patients with vestibular migraine admitted into the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinxiang Medical College from Jun. 2018 to Dec. 2019 were selected and divided into control group( 61 cases) and observation group( 60 cases)
via the random number table. The control group was treated with Flunarizine hydrochloride capsule and the observation group was treated with Anisodine hydrobromide tablets
both groups were treated continuously for4 weeks. Differences in dizziness handicap inventory( DHI) including physical( P)
emotional( E) and functional( F) scores
self-rating anxiety scale( SAS) and self-rating depression rating depression scale( SDS) were compared between two groups before treatment
4 weeks after treatment and during follow-up; recurrence of dizziness during follow-up and incidence of adverse drug reactions during treatment of the two groups were recorded. RESULTS: Scores of DHI and its subitems
SAS and SDS of both groups after 4 weeks of treatment were significantly lower than those of before treatment
the above scores during follow-up were significantly lower than those after 4 weeks of treatment
the DHI score
E score
SAS and SDS scores of the observation group after 4 weeks of treatment and during follow-up were significantly lower than those of the control group
with statistically significant differences( P < 0. 05); there was no statistical significance in difference in F and P scores between two groups after 4 weeks of treatment and during followup( P > 0. 05). During follow-up
the cumulative frequency of dizziness attack of observation group was significantly less than that of the control group
the cumulative time of dizziness attack was significantly shorter than that of the control group
the cumulative severity of dizziness was significantly lower than that of the control group
with statistically significant differences( P < 0. 05). During treatment
the incidences of adverse drug reactions of the control group and observation group were respectively 4. 92%( 3/61) and 5. 00%( 3/60)
and the difference has no statistical significance( P > 0. 05). CONCLUSIONS: Anisodine hydrobromide tablets are more effective than flunarizine hydrochloride capsules in improving the symptoms of vestibular migraine and preventing recurrence
especially in reducing anxiety and depression
with high safety.
