Study on Pleiotropy and Safety of Pitavastatin in Patients with Cerebral Infarction
OBJECTIVE: To probe into the pleiotropy and safety of pitavastatin in patients with cerebral infarction.METHODS: Totally 198 patients with cerebral infarction admitted into Hebei Petrochina Central Hospital from Feb.2018 to Apr. 2019 were retrospectively selected and divided into pitavastatin group( treated with pitavastation
106 cases) and atorvastatin group( treated with atorvastatin calcium tablets
92 case) according to different therapeutic regimens. Differences in neurological function [score of national institutes of health stroke scale( NIHSS) ]
viability[score of activity of daily living( ADL) ]
blood lipid indicator [total cholesterol( TC)
triglyceride( TG)
low density lipoprotein cholesterin( LDL-C) and high density lipoprotein cholesterin( HDL-C) ]and hepatorenal function indicator [hepatic function including aspartate transaminase( AST)
alanine aminotransferase( ALT); renal function including creatinine( Cr)
blood urea nitrogen( BUN) ] were compared between two groups before and( 6 months)after treatment
the clinical efficacy and incidences of adverse drug reactions of both groups were observed. RESULTS:After treatment
differences in NIHSS and ADL scores between two groups were statistically significant( P < 0. 05)
of which the NIHSS score of pitavastatin group was significantly lower than that of the atorvastatin group
while the ADL score was significantly higher than that of the atorvastatin group. In the comparison of TG
TC and LDL-C levels between two groups after treatment
the pitavastatin group was significantly lower than those of the atorvastatin group
and HDL-C levels were significantly higher in the pitavastatin group
with statistically significant differences( P <0. 05). After treatment
the Cr
ALT and BUN levels of pitavastatin group were significantly lower than those of the atorvastatin group
with statistically significant differences( P < 0. 05). The total effective rate of pitavastatin group was 94. 57%( 87/92)
which was significantly higher than that of the atorvastatin group( 67. 92%
72/106)
with statistically significant differences( P < 0. 05). The incidence of adverse drug reactions of pitavastatin group was6. 52%( 6/92)
which was significantly lower than that of the atorvastatin group( 16. 98%
18/106)
withstatistically significant differences( P < 0. 05). CONCLUSIONS: Compared with atorvastatin
pitavastatin has better efficacy and safety in treatment of acute cerebral infarction
and the patients neurological function
liver and kidney function and quality of life are significantly improved.
