Retrospective Analysis of Clinical Characteristics and Whole Process of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Treatment for 20 Patients with COVID-19
OBJECTIVE: To probe into the clinical characteristics of patients with COVID-19
and to summarize the whole process of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment and the development and outcome of the patients’ condition. METHODS: The information management system of Donghua Hospital and Meikang clinical pharmacy management system were used
20 patients diagnosed with common COVID-19 in Wuhan Third Hospital from Jan. 25th to Mar. 5th
2020 were selected as the research objects for retrospective analysis. Twenty patients received antiviral treatment from the time of diagnosis
including continuous oral administration of oseltamivir for 5 d
continuous oral administration of abidol for 5 to 10 d
and continuous oral administration of Lianhua Qingwen granules for 5 to 10 d.In addition
all patients received moxifloxacin treatment and other necessary supportive care (oxygen inhalation and nutritional support were given according to patients’ condition) for 3 to 6 d. RESULTS: After treatment of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine
all clinical symptoms related to COVID-19 of 20 patients disappeared
white blood cell count
neutrophil percentage and lymphocyte percentage all returned to the normal levels
and chest CT examination results showed that the infection lesions were obviously absorbed. All patients were tested three times for viral nucleic acids
which were negative and discharged from the hospital. CONCLUSIONS: The results of this study provide clues for the treatment of COVID-19
and the efficacy
safety and rationality of oseltamivir
abidor
Lianhua Qingwen granules combined with moxixacin are supposed to be further verified in future studies.
