OBJECTIVE:Replacing cisplatin by nedaplatin for single-week simultaneous proton and heavy ion radiotherapy

so as to compare with cisplatin for simultaneous proton and heavy ion radiotherapy in the treatment of nasopharyngeal malignant tumor in terms of efficacy

adverse drug reactions and pharmacoeconomics.METHODS:91 patients with nasopharyngeal malignant tumor receiving simultaneous proton and heavy ion radiotherapy of cisplatin（cisplatin group

46 cases） and nedaplatin（nedaplatin group

45 cases） admitted into Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Certer Proton and Heavy Ion Center from Jan.2017 to Jun.2019 were collected

differences in efficacy

adverse drug reactions and costs were compared between two groups.RESULTS:The effective rate and clinical benefit rate of cisplatin group were respectively 73.91%（34/46） and 93.48%（43/46）

while the effective rate and clinical benefit rate of cisplatin group were respectively 75.56%（34/45） and 93.33%（42/45）;there were no statistical significance in differences in effective rate and clinical benefit rate between two groups（P>0.05）.The incidences of hemoglobin reduction

electrolyte imbalance

kidney damage

nausea and vomiting in the cisplatin group were significantly higher than those in nedaplatin group

with statistically significant differences（P < 0.05）.The cost of chemotherapy alone in cisplatin group was significantly lower than that in nedaplatin group

with statistically significant differences（P<0.05）;while there was no statistical significance in difference in total costs between two groups（P>0.05）.CONCLUSIONS:The short-term efficacy and total cost of simultaneous proton and heavy ion radiotherapy of cisplatin and nedaplatin in the treatment of nasopharyngeal malignant tumor are equivalent

but nedaplatin has significantly fewer adverse drug reactions.
