Analysis of Irrational Prescriptions of Antineoplastic Drugs in Intravenous Admixture Service Center of a Children's Hospital
Objective: To understand the irrational use of antineoplastic drugs in intravenous admixture service center in 2018 and 2019
compare the change of the incidence of irrational prescriptions in two years after pharmacist intervention
provide support for finding more effective intervention mechanism to ensure the safety of drug using in cancer patients. Methods: The total number of anti-tumor drug prescriptions was 3
796
including 302 irrational prescription. Referring to the relevant information
χ² test was used to classify the irrational prescription of antineoplastic drugs in two years. Result: Error type ware high or weight error
wrong drug dosage
wrong medication time
wrong drug concentration
incompatibility
repeated use of drugs
solvent error
medical order input error
wrong route of drug use. The incidence of irrational drug use did not decreased significantly before and after pharmacist intervention (χ²=0.865
P>0.05). Conclusion: Due to the cytotoxicity of chemotherapeutic drugs
there are high risks in use
and the accuracy of doctor’s order review is also required to be higher
although the short-term intervention effect of pharmacists is not statistically obvious. Although the effect of intervention was not statistically significant
in order to ensure the safety of children with cancer in the process of chemotherapy
pharmacists need to sum up experience in the work to update the prescription review measures and intervention methods.
