Analysis of 90 Cases of Adverse Drug Reactions Induced by Chinese Patent Medicine in Children
Objective: To probe into the characteristics and rules of adverse drug reactions (ADR) induced by Chinese patent medicine in children
so as to provide reference for promoting clinical rational drug use. Methods: Retrospective analysis was adopted
90 cases of ADR induced by Chinese patent medicine reported to the National Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring Center in Haikou Hospital of the Maternal and Child Health from 2012 to 2019 were selected for statistical analysis. Results: Of the 90 cases of ADR
the incidence of ADR in children aged from 1 to 6 years was the highest (72.22%). The most of ADR cases were induced by intravenous injection (82.80%). The antipyretic and detoxifying Chinese patent medicine injection were the major cause of ADR in respect of the drug types
which was related to the high incidence of respiratory diseases. The skin and its appendages were mainly damaged in ADR (82.76%). Conclusion: Clinical attention should be paid to the application of Chinese patent medicine in children
and ADR monitoring should be strengthened to reduce the incidence of ADR and promote clinical rational drug use.
