The short-term therapeutic effect observation of postoperative concurrent radiotherapy and chemotherapy for intracranial glioma
Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of postoperative concurrent radiotherapy and chemotherapy for intracranial glioma.Methods:29 patients of glioma who underwent total or subtotal resection received three dimensional conformal radiation therapy(3D-CRT)
with total dose of 60 Gy/4-6 weeks and superselective interventional intra-arterial chemotherapy with(Nimustine hydrochoride)ACNU given 2.5 mg/kg each time;the chemotherapy was repeated every four weeks
and four or six cycles was one complete course.Other 25 patients received 3D-CRT and concurrent chemotherapy via vein. Results:General efficiency was 75.8%(complete remission + partial response)in intra-arterial chemotherapy group
which was significant higher than in the vein chemotherapy group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Postoperative concurrent radiotherapy and superselective interventional intra-arterial chemotherapy is an effective therapy for gliomas.
