Morphological changes in long-time chronic prostatitis rat models
Objective:To study the morphological changes of prostates in long-time prostatitis rat models at different stages. Methods:Male Sprague Dawley rats were intradermally immunized with pertussis-diphtheria-tetanus vaccine 0.5 ml combined with the saline extract of rat prostate glands(RPG) in concentrations of 20 mg/ml and Freundg complete adjuvant(FCA) i.P at the 0 and 30th day.Animals were sacrificed after 45 days
60 days
90 days and 120 days.Morphological changes of prostates were observed under light and electron microscope. Results:After 45 days
the lymphocytes were observed around the capillary vessels in intercellular substance of prostates;the intercellular spaced of epithelia were widened;interstitial edema and mast cell were apparent after 60 days and 90 days. The Interstitial fibrosis and dilatation of prostate lumens were remarkable after 120 days. Conclusion:The present study established all the pathological stages of chronic prostatitis and suggested that the chronic prostatitis models at different stages could be used for studying the mechanism of CPPS at different pathophysilogical stages and providing refrence for their clinical treatment.
