Plasma levels of zinc in 127 children with rotavirus enteritis
Objective:To explore the levels of plasma zinc through comparison with virus enteritis in healthy infants children. Methods:The fast intravenous plasmas were collected from 1 183 healthy infants and 127 diseased infants. The levels of zinc in plasma were determined
recorded
and the results were analyzed. Results:The plasma levels of zinc in the diseased infants were remarkably lower than those in healthy infants
with significant difference between them(P<0.01).Conclusion:Infants diagnosed with roatvirus enteritis have lower level of zinc in sera
which indicates that infants have hypozincemia during roatvirus enteritis. Therefore
zinc supplementation may be an effective aid to treat and prevent rotavirus enteritis.
