Expression and significance of FEZ1 in papillary thyroid carcinoma
Objective:To investigate expression of tumor suppressor gene FEZ1 and whether there is a correlation between FEZ1 expression and clinicopathological features of papillary thyroid carcinoma. Methods:The expression of FEZ1 mRNA and protein in 30 cases of normal thyroid and 30 cases of adenomas and 30 cases of papillary thyroid carcinoma were detected by in situ hubridyzation(ISH) and immuno-histochemistry(IHC)methods.Results:The positive expression rate of FEZ1 mRNA and protein in normal thyroid were significantly higher than that in adenomas(P<0.05)and papillary thyroid cancer(P<0.05).The positive expression rate of FEZ1 mRNA and protein in clinical pathology stage ofⅠandⅡwas significantly higher than that in clinical pathology stage of Ⅲ and Ⅳ(P<0.05).The positive expression rate of FEZ1 mRNA and protein in lymphotic metastasis negative group were significantly higher than that in lymphotic metastasis positive group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The non-expression or low expression of FEZ1 gene may be relation with the occurrence and progression of papillary thyroid cancer.
