Clinical analysis of antiepileptic drug hypersensitivity syndrome on 20 children
therapeutic method and antiepileptics of antiepileptic drug hypersensitivity syndrome(AHS) on 20 children were analyzed
it’s good for recognition and remedy of this kind of disease. Methods: The retrospective analysis was carried out on the clinical data of the children treated in our hospital from Jan 2000 to Apr 2010 who were diagnosed as AHS.Results: 19 of 20 children were treated with aromatic antiepileptic drugs and the other 1 was treated with non-aromatic antiepileptic drugs. All children suffered skin rash and fever. Conclusion: The clinical situation of AHS was different and it was easy to cause diagnostic errors. So it was necessary to recognize AHS fully to prevent further harm to the suffered children. The benzene ring in the molecular structure of aromatic antiepileptic drug was believed to be a cause of AHS
and altofrequent cross reaction was observed in congener drugs.
