The expression and significance of eotaxin and mcp-1 in peripheral blood from patients with chronic urticaria
Objective:To investigate the mRNA and protein expression and significance of eosinophil chemoattractant chemokine(eotaxin) and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1(mcp-1) in peripheral blood of patients with chronic urticaria. Methods:Reverse transcription-polymerase reaction(RT-PCR) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) was applied to analyzed the mRNA and protein expression respectively in peripheral blood from 58 patients with chronic urticaria and 39 healthy controls.Results:①The mRNA expression of eotaxin and mcp-1 were 0.664 9±0.106 7
0.499 4±0.060 8 respectively in patients with chronic urticaria
0.424 8±0.081 8、0.289 7±0.049 6 in healthy controls.The protein expression of eotaxin and mcp-1 in serum were(450.48±222.44) pg/ml
(103.35±46.53) pg/ml in the patients
(277.76±89.49) pg/ml and(53.35±34.91) pg/ml in the controls. Both the mRNA and protein expression of eotaxin and mcp-1 in peripheral blood in the patients was significantly higher than those in the controls(P<0.001).②There was a positive correlation(P<0.01) between the expression of eotaxin and the course、severity of the desease. Conclusion:The results suggest that the up-regulation of the eotaxin and mcp-1 might play a certain role in the pathogenesis of chronic urticaria.
