Efficacy of glargine on type2 diabetic patients whose treatment fail with premixed insulin
Objective:To identify the glucose control rates oftreatment with glargine combined with oral drugs in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients whose treatment were failed with premixed insulin combined with oral drugs. Methods:Type 2 diabetes mellitus patients whose treatment were failed with premixed insulin combined with oral drugs were switched to treatment with glargine combined with oral drugs; control rates were analyzed after switching. Results:After switching
80.77% of the patients achieved fast glucose control; 72% of the patients achieved postprandial glucose control ;15.38% of the patients achieved an HbA1c level of 7%
and 46.15% achieved 7.5% .The mean reduction of HbA1c was 0.6% . Total mean insulin use was decreased. Conclusion:Type 2 diabetes mellitus patients whose treatment were failed with premixed insulin combined with oral drugs can be switched to treatment with glargine combined with oral drugs. After the switch
serum glucose level in patients’blood will decrease; glucose control rates will increase
and total mean insulin use will decrease.
