The clinical significance of p16INK4a in cervical cytology staging
high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion(HSIL).Methods:p16INK4a and HPV16/18 DNA in thin-layer slides from 89 specimens were detected by immunohistochemistry and the insitu hybridization. Results:A positive correlation was found between the positive rate of p16INK4a and cervical disease progression
the positive rate of p16INK4a in LSIL
HSIL
ASC-H were higher than ASC-US(P<0.05);There were not variability between the positive rate of p16INK4a and HPV16/18 DNA in ASC-US and LSIL; p16INK4a positive rate in ASC-US was not related with p16INK4a positive rate in LSIL.Conclusion:Detecting p16INK4a in thin-layer slides could help staging in cervical cytology
p16INK4a should be detected by immunohistochemistry for ASC-US
which could help clinical doctor choose a curative treatment.
